Al Sharp is pictured here with 3 kilograms of Jasus Edwardsii, AKA Southern rock lobster, caught yesterday off Warrnambool taking advantage of the very flat sea.  Al will no doubt be hoping to repeat the effort next week, in the Shipwreck Coast Fishing Classic, which this year features crayfish as an eligible species.  It starts this Saturday and runs 7th-15th March, and will be massive!  Have you entered yet?  Enter online at this link.IMG_6617

Mick Mahney started the day with a surf at Port Fairy before ditching the board for a mask and spear, to catch himself a nice feed!10011886_10153077832337380_9123054177451891548_o

There was no shortage of tuna in very close between Portland and Port Fairy’s Julia Percy Island, however they were very difficult to catch as has been common in recent weeks.  Here’s Nick Murrell with one he tempted with one of his offerings fishing with Cameron Ordner.IMG_6618

Scotty Gray has been doing well on the tuna, casting stickbaits – here is one boatside, showing its beautiful colours!10497280_325769394285779_7367044267699085394_o

John Cranston caught this Kingfish off Port Fairy yesterday, it took a small Hookem purple and black skirted lure.  He didn’t find the tuna, but reminds anglers to be aware of the number of cray pots scattered around the area that many of the boats are fishing off Port Fairy.photo
