Another nice brown trout for Darren John and his son who caught his first brown trout weighing in at a thumping 4.4 kilograms at Lake Purrumbete.  The lake continues to produce quality fish for those putting in the effort.  There was also a couple of nice Chinook salmon caught on whitebait fished down deep on the weekend.

With the blue seawater pushing into the Hopkins River the bream fishing has picked back up, although its more a case of the being in the right place at the right time as the fish have started pushing back up the river with the salt wedge.
