Big seas have kept most boats from heading offshore over the last week now. When a quick weather window opens up, anglers have had no trouble finding a few tuna mostly around the 25-50m line. Dan from Salty Dog Charters snuck out this morning and despite the conditions managed to put a few fish in the boat.
Quality whiting have been going well on the inshore grounds at Portland. Some solid fish have also been taken by those fishing inshore grounds around Warrnambool, Killarney and Port Fairy. when conditions are a little sketchy for chasing tuna, whiting have been a reliable back up plan.
