It was a busy weekend on the water with plenty of anglers out chasing tuna. Good catches of tuna were caught on the shelf from Port Fairy and a couple of barrels were hooked and lost. Albacore were a little quiet on Monday, but the numbers of school bluefin made up for the lack of albacore. Scott Gray fished out of the Seacruiser 6000HT with Jimmi Taylor on Sunday for a good catch of tuna and albacore taken on skirts and xrap 20’s in average sea conditions.
On Monday the sea was good and the tuna bite was good up until about 1pm. A couple of barrels were hooked and lost after long battlesand those fishing the bottom scored gemfish and blue eye in 400m of water. After catching some fish trolling the boys jigged a few up on Storm microjigs!
