School tuna continue to be caught on the shelf off Warrnambool and Port Fairy when conditions allow and there are plenty of fish on their way from the west. Geoff Verhoef from Port Fairy caught this ripper snapper last weekend while bottom fishing that weighed in at 3.7kg and measured 75cm in length. Certainly one of the better snapper we have seen for a while along the southwest coast.

The local estuaries and freshwater reaches continue to provide options for anglers. Scott Gray from the Tackle Shack caught some nice perch on Storm 360GT searchbaits in the Hopkins River recently and goods report of mulloway continue to filter in from the Hopkins and Glenelg Rivers.

Some nice trout have also been caught at Lake Bullen Merri and Lake Purrumbete this week by anglers downrigging and flat line trolling lures in the morning and evening.
