Plenty of good fishing on the freshwater front over the weekend as the weather kept many boats away from the sea. Tom Fox from Richardson Marine caught a nice bag of redfin and brown trout with Mark Fox at Toolondo Reservoir.
Dylan Pace from the Tackle Shack headed to the Snowy Mountains with a few of his mates chasing brown trout and caught some nice fish in the Eucumbene River.
Lake Purrumbete fished well on Friday and Saturday producing some good salmonids including brown trout to 3.8kg and this Chinook salmon which weighed 3.7kg. Most of the bigger fish were caught flatlining Tassie Devils early and late in the day.
Salmon are still on offer locally on the beaches from Peterborough to Port fairy and on Saturday conditions were ideal for casting lures with a strong offshore breeze and high tides. Scott Gray from the Tackle Shack caught a good bag of salmon on the high tide casting 50g metals.
Dan Hoey from Salty Dog Charters got stuck into the school tuna off Port Fairy on Saturday in 50-60m of water. There should be plenty around off Warrnambool and Port Fairy after the weather passes through this week.
