Colby Lesko, along with The Tackle Shack’s Scott Gray whipped out the micro jigging gear and punched out to the 70m line off Port Fairy. Drifting over reefy patches the boys had a ball on an array of first class table species species such as these Silver Dory and Nannygai. If this style of fishing interests you drop into to the tackle shack and have a chat with Scotty or Dylan for all advice on micro jigging tips, technique and tackle.

School Tuna have been running hot with great numbers of fish between Port Fairy and Port Mac. Skirts around the 6” size have been accounting plenty of fish either size of 12kg. If you have been thinking about heading out or booking a charter, now is a great time! The odd Barrel is still being reported but the best reports have been East.

Dylan Pace from the Tackle Shack recently got back from the Snowy Mountains where the Eucembene River spawn run is in full swing. While smaller numbers of fish were running than usual due to low flow, the boys still managed 79 Browns up to 6lb for the trip.

The Hopkins River mouth burst last Thursday which has slowed the fishing a little. Bream and Estuary perch have been fishing well with lures such as Zman Slim Swimz, Pontoon21 Crack Jacks and Daiwa Spikes accounting for plenty of fish. A few sizeable Mulloway around the meter mark have also been caught and lost over the weekend, its well worth chasing these fish at the moment if you have some time. Dylan Pace found plenty of Bream and Estuary perch on the Weekend. While the bigger fish are being quite elusive, a few quality fish like these are still kicking about.
