Plenty of options this weekend with fine conditions forecast along the southwest Victorian coast. The bottom fishing for gummy sharks has improved over the last week off Warrnambool and Port Fairy with the full moon and good tides with fish being caught right through from 42m to 150m depth. School tuna have been patchy, but are still around in reasonable numbers. Look for them in 70-100m of water. Mako sharks have been turning up consistently offshore in anglers catches also. Simon Rinaldi from Red Hot Fishing Charters caught tuna and got this great bag of fish bottom during the week off Portland.

The lower Merri River continues to fish well for brown trout to 2.5kg with first and last light being prime time. Some good browns were also caught at Lake Purrumbete this week.
