Scott Gray from The Tackle Shack had a great session Micro Jigging out wide on Saturday afternoon. After finding some promising marks along the 70m line, slow Jigging with 100g Storm Koikas saw a mixed bag of quality fish including Silver Dory and Red Snapper hit the deck. If this style of fishing interests you, come down and have a chat to either Dylan or Scotty at the Tackle Shack for everything you need to know.

Scotty C Sent us this pic of an Awesome Snapper caught on the troll off Barwon heads. The plagues of couta were well worth putting up with for a fish like this. The Surf Coast often holds some quality offshore reds, its always worth a bottom bash or micro jig from now until the beginning of snapper season as fish hold on the deeper reefs before running into the bay.

The lower Merri remains open for trout anglers and some quality trout are on the chew. Focusing around the early morning and late afternoon has been the go with some cracking Browns over 2.5kg being caught. Lures such as Rapala F7’s and 9’s, along with Daiwa Double Clutch 95’S and TD95’s are your best bet.
