The Tuna have shown no sign of slowing at Portland with both charter and rec boats finding fish between the rock and Cape Bridgewater. Magnet Charters put their clients onto a boat limit of fish then continued to tag and release plenty more.

further east the Surfcoast has seen some great Gummy Shark fishing over the last couple of weeks. The boys from Surfcoast Anglers landed this nice 17.5kg Gummy late last week.

Dylan Pace and Elly Gomez fished the western lakes on Saturday where a few rainbow trout were on the chew. Bait fishing with Berkley Powerbait or Glassies has seen plenty of fish caught for anglers over the last month or so, while trolling lures such as Rapala F7’s has been killer when the fish are more fired up.

The Hopkins has seen most of the fish moving deep but some horse bream and perch are still on the chew. Dylan Pace fished quite a bit late last week and found no shortage of bream up to 1.3kg throwing plastics. Other Anglers have also found perch to 46cm and the odd Mulloway either side of 80cm. Lures such as Zman Slim Swimz, Daiwa Spikes, TT Switch Blades and Berkley Gulp Turtleback Worms are all great options for this time of year.
