The past week has seen plenty of flow on the rivers and the Trout have fired up as expected. Tackle Shack staff member Dylan has been out and about finding some cracking Browns either side of 5lb around the flooded margins. As the rivers drop over this week, expect the fish to chew hard. Larger hardbodies such as Rapala F9’s, Xrap-8’s, Daiwa TD95’S and Double Clutch 95’s will be your best bet.

Some great fish have also been coming from Bullen Merri. The boys from Deakin Uni Fishing Rec Club fished late Friday arvo and landed over 15 chinook salmon up to 2kg. Land based anglers have also been doing well on Rainbow Trout and Chinooks with both bait and lure producing fish.

The bottom fishing out wide has been exceptional of late with plenty of Snapper and Sharks making an appearance. Salty Dog Charters were at it again yesterday putting together a great bag of Snapper and catching some solid school sharks, keeping one and releasing the rest.
