The weather has been as bad as it gets in winter the past few days with gale force winds, big swells and plenty of heavy rain. There has been extensive flooding across the region, but there are still plenty of fish to catch if you can brave the conditions. Scott Gray from the Tackle Shack has been having a ball in the lower reaches of the estuaries fishing for bream on the flats with soft plastics. Storm 2″ hypnogrubs and Zman 2.5″ grubs have been doing the damage. Don’t be disheartened by the discoloured water!
Amanda Richards has had some excellent fishing this week fishing from the shore at Lake Bolac, bagging out on good quality rainbow trout on every trip. The fish have been taking a variety of baits including scrubworms, glassies and fluoro orange powerbait.
