The rivers have begun to clear up with plenty of salt pushing in. Bream, Estuary Perch and the odd Mulloway have been hot on the chew right through the river, with fish moving a lot with the tides. The surface bite has been crazy with Bream and Perch keen to smash top water lures such as the OSP Bent Minnow 76’s and Bassday Sugar Pens. Small cicada walkers such as the Jackall Micro Pompadour have been a favorite for the Estuary Perch after dark. Dylan Pace has had some great sessions finding fish on pretty much any shallow margin from Proudfoots up.
Fishing deeper has seen larger fish responding well to deep diving shads and plastics. Daiwa Spikes and OSP Dunks have been a clear standout in the hard body department, with Slimz and Grubz being the go on the plastic front. Corey McLaren has been finding plenty of fish throwing a mix of Daiwa Spikes and Zman Slim Swimz.
Mulloway have been a little scarce but some nice fish have been taken on both cut and live mullet.
Late last week saw a few great diving days on offer for anyone keen to get wet.
