The South West lakes have been fishing fantastic of late with the usual Salmonids and Redfin on offer. Dylan from Tackle Shack had a great session on Thursday trolling hard bodies. Dylan found plenty of Rainbow Trout in the 3-4lb range, Brown trout to 3lb and any amount of small Redfin keen to belt lures trolled around the weed margins. Lakes such as Purrumbete, Bullen Merri, Tooliorook, Deep Lake and Lake Bolac have been fishing exceptional and should continue to produce some great fish over the next few weeks. Bait fishing with Powerbait, Mudeye’s and Worms has been an easy option for anyone chasing a few fish, while trolling and casting lures such as Tassie Devils, Rapala F7’s and Daiwa Double clutches has been the undoing of the better class of fish on offer.

There are still some monster Brown Trout either side of 10lb on offer at Purrumbete. This Trophy fish was taken yesterday on a Tassie Devil.

Bream and Estuary perch are still plentiful in the local estuaries for anyone casting Hardbodies and Surface Lures. Lures such as Daiwa Spikes, OSP Dunks, and OSP Bent Minnows have been standouts.
