It was an epic day out on the water yesterday along the southwest coast which saw hundreds of boats out enjoying the fine conditions. The shelf produced plenty of good mako sharks for those that made the trip and there were some good bags of blue-eye from Warrnambool, Port Fairy and Portland. With the fine conditions the tuna were easy to find inshore, but hard to catch. Some fish to 35kg were taken in 60+ metres of water trolling skirts and divers and casting stickbaits.
Rob Sandlant and crew continued their fine form this week and got a nice surprise when this solid kingfish took a trolled deep diving lure.
