The Warrnambool Offshore & Light Game Fishing Club held an outing today at Port Fairy, with gummies the main target in the morning and garfish off the beach in the afternoon, with a barbeque in between. Most boats managed to get a few gummies, although mostly fairly small, and Peter Bartlett caught a 16kg schoolie. A couple of flathead were caught too.
The garfish off the rocks at the sheltered Pea Soup Beach were good family fun and are a great land-based option.
This was from last weekend: Nick Slattery with a school shark, gummy shark and a good feed of flathead caught off Portland. Great catch boys!
