The local rivers received a new liberation of fingerling Brown Trout this week. The Merri was stocked with 7,000 fish, 5,000 were released in the Hopkins and 2,000 into the Moyne River. On the fishing front, the local rivers have continued to fish exceptionally well. Plenty of Anglers have been making the most of the ideal conditions and have been rewarded with some fantastic fish in the 2-6lb range. Lures such as Berkley T-tail’s and Fish Arrow soft plastics have been a favourite, while larger hardbodies such as Daiwa Double Clutch 95’S and Rapala F9’s have accounted for the larger fish.
