This crew from Wonthaggi weighed in this “Barrel”, caught today off Port Fairy, which went 101kg gutted. Congratulations guys!!
Corey and his crew fishing the shelf off Portland got amongst them today.
Peter Agius from Tsutomu Lures had a good day off Port Fairy today, catching any amount of tuna in 70mtrs and closer, with his larger 11″ Tsutomu Lures faring just as well as the smaller ones.
Thanks to Shane Watts for this report:
Second day of Port MacDonnell O.A.C. Comp and it would be fair to say it was tough going for everyone. The Southern Bluefin Tuna were a bit scarce today with only a few weighed in which was a change from yesterday when 18 were weighed in & 30+ tag and released. Today there was an abundance of Striped Tuna caught with a couple weighed in & plenty tag & released. A few Mako Sharks weighed in as well and the comp leading heaviest SBT AT 18+ Kg weighed. Tomorrow looks to be good conditions and we might see a few of the deep water species caught along with some more Mako’s and hopefully SBT & Albacore.
Pictured is Dave Fent with the leading tuna so far.
Please note that a large quantity of the competition prizes were stolen from the Port MacDonnell clubrooms so please keep an eye out for anything/anyone suspicious or selling fishing gear, and keep your gear secure.
