Well, tuna season as we know it seems to have started! Albacore and good numbers of tuna out at the shelf, at all ports – Port MacDonnell, Portland, and Port Fairy, not sure if anyone ventured out wide off Warrnambool but no doubt they’ll be well spread now for a while.
Col Sheppard headed to Port Mac and got amongst them.
Chris and Mick and crew had a ripper day off Portland.
Albies and tuna out wide off Port Fairy as well, but while there are fish in close it is hard to drive past them! John Cahill of Ebb Tide Adventures fishing with Kyle from Jaks Lures found them finicky in close, dropping one but eventually being rewarded with this.
Scotty Gray and Jimmy Taylor had a great day off Port Fairy, catching 9.
The Graham boys had to contend with this nasty double hook-up!
Dave Williams and Peter Goode yesterday got a five way hook up on kings, 3 kept, 1 tagged and 1 released undersize and an 18.8kg tuna off port fairy, and are out again today.
