The tuna are still in nice and close off Port Fairy and Warrnambool, with Cameron Ordner and crew having a double hook-up 300m from the red buoy in the bay at Port Fairy yesterday, and catching half a dozen for the day, mostly tagged and released.
Today these guys were able to get amongst them in about 40m in their small boats, having twelve or so hook-ups, all casting metal lures.
Cookie, Trav and Harry had a good two hour session of Warrnambool out from Levi’s in 44 metres of water. A few birds but plenty on the sounder – taking all lures and fish up to 15kg – good hot session!
Nick Murrell fished the Hopkins River today with Scotty Gray and Jo Rowland. Caught bream to a whopping 46.5cm, mulloway to 61cm and some smaller perch in there too – great session.
