In close off Warrnambool, 30-40m depth, there are plenty of schools of tuna. On cassius cray we went out at lunchtime and caught 4 by about 3pm, then found them finicky. These were caught on deep divers. Others caught them on a mixture of divers and skirted lures, as well as casting stick baits. Some nice blue-eye also came in from out wide. Same story at Port Fairy too.
Andrew Westlake, Jarrad Cronin, Matt Boyce and Roy Mapleson managed 3 from 4 hits in 40-44m straight off Warrnambool, also seeing tuna in 20m on the way in. Xraps and a UV micro Uzi were the successful lures.
Salty Dog Charters at Port Fairy again put his customers onto plenty of tuna.
Portland Fishing Charters caught plenty as well, out at the shelf.
