Fine conditions saw plenty of anglers chasing tuna offshore yesterday with mixed results. There was plenty of fish around, but they proved a bit finicky for many anglers. The 55-65m depth seemed to be the most productive. A barrel of over 100kg was caught at Portland. James Taylor took his Seacruiser 6000HT out for a bit of bottom fishing and caught a good bag of snapper and gummy shark and also a few tuna on stickbaits that popped up next to his boat while bottom fishing. He also had a small mako visit but it pulled the hooks. Plenty of life out there!
