2024 Stabicraft 2350 Supercab

25 Mar 26

One of the first 2350s to ever be built - and the second one to arrive in Australia! After the popularity and success of the departing 2400 Supercab, Stabicraft had big shoes to fill with the 2350 Supercab, so we couldn't wait to get our hands on one and give it a test. Whilst the 2400 had a maximum transom rating of 250hp, the 2350 had now been re-rated to take 350hp - and performance was spectacular! This one was fitted with a single engine, the legendary Suzuki DF350ATXX - a serious beast of an engine packed with technology to deliver incredible performance and fuel economy - and of course the unique Duo Prop. The DF350A’s dual propellers provide three key benefits, compact size, increased stability and greater “traction.” By distributing the power of the engine over six blades, instead of just three, the size of the gears and gear case could be kept to a minimum, which in turn allow for a sleeker, more hydrodynamic gearcase design. Contra-rotating propellers also provide added surface area, for more stability and increased “traction” or grip underwater. This results in exceptional acceleration, or hole-shot, truer directional propulsion (eliminating steering torque), better than expected top speeds and incredible reverse thrust. Importantly, these benefits are apparent even on heavier boats with full loads of fuel, gear and people.

This particular boat was built in the top-spec Profish package, so it came very well equipped straight from factory with all the essentials for serious offshore use - fuel capacity, storage, seating, live bait capability and a well thought-out cabin layout. From there, we added our usual Richardson Marine fitout touches to take it to the next level.

A full suite of Garmin electronics were installed as always - a GPSMap 8416 sounder, coastal charts, 1kw TM275LHW and smaller GT51 transducers - which both ran through a GSD28 sonar module. On the roof we fitted the GMR18 radar.

As with all of our Stabicraft packages, this one ran on an Easytow alloy trailer - the first 2350 on an Easytow! These are our preferred choice not only for quality and after-sales support but also as Easytow actually use the CAD drawings from Stabicraft to match the hull perfectly to the trailer so it fits tight (but not too tight), tows well and loads easy onto the Boat Catch.

Heading to the customer up in north QLD, he requested a Minn Kota electric motor up the front - a true game changer for offshore fishing. We chose the auto-deloy brushless Instinct Quest 72", with a 100ah 36v BLA lithium battery.

With the 2350 coming from factory standard with hydrualic steering, we took the package a step further with a Reactor 40 hydraulic corepack autopilot which links in with the sounders and engines to deliver a neat system.

As always, lot of extras went in to produce an overall incredible 2350 Supercab!
