The 2350 Supercab platform from Stabicraft has proved a winner - and Ed couldn't wait to set up a demo boat with all the fruit he could get his hands on! After fitout was complete, Ed then towed it 4000km all the way across Australia from south-west Victoria to remote Cape York - Portland Roads to be exact. This area is rough, rugged and isolated - with beach launching necessary - and yet the 2350 emerged victorious, returning in one piece with a swagger of huge fish caught on the trip!
Anyway, back to the boat. This one-of-a-kind offshore fishing weapon has been fully customised with every upgrade imaginable. Safe, fast, stylish, and packed with cutting-edge tech. Powered by twin 175hp Suzuki four-strokes, the package features Dometic Optimus Electronic Power Steering with Seaways Go autopilot, delivering effortless handling and precision control. The Dometic Seastar Xtreme setback jack plate with Smart Stick, gauge, and Pro Trim optimises speed, fuel efficiency, and stability—even adjusting engine height in just 8.5 seconds at full throttle.
The electronics package is second to none. A brand-new Garmin GPSMap 1553xsv paired with the Panoptix PS70 transducer provides real-time sonar up to 300m, 120° wide beam coverage, and 3D mapping of the water column. Garmin RapidReturn technology shows bait and gamefish live, while RealVu and True Motion 3D scanning revolutionise deep-sea fishing. To complement it, we’ve fitted Furuno’s TZT 16” MFD with TZ Maps, running a TM265LH transducer and Navipilot Autopilot—the ultimate combination for serious anglers.
Up front, there’s the powerhouse Minn Kota Riptide Instinct Quest (87"), powered by a BLA 36V 100Ah lithium battery and connected via a waterproof Minn Kota plug. Ed was blown away by its performance and reliability while fishing daily up north — and the self-deploying feature makes it perfect for a cabin boat, especially in croc country or heavy seas. These brushless motors are incredibly efficient compared to older generations and you'll get a whole lot more run time from a single battery.
Inside the cabin, we’ve added a few comforts for tropical trips — dual 12V fans to keep things cool, a Scanstrut phone charger on the dash, a Garmin VHF 215i radio with GPS and sounder integration, and a Ritchie compass. Keeping safe, contactable and in touch on those big remote trips is non-negotiable; you're hours away from any mobile coverage, so a range of emergency and non-emergency communications is essential.
Built for offshore adventure, the Stabicraft 2350 Supercab boasts a 400L fuel tank, 350hp rating, wider beam, and increased deck/cabin space. The Sportfish package adds suspension helm seats, folding passenger seating, a canvas rear wall, cabin lining, extendable V-berth, and a fully kitted transom with live bait tank, bait board, leader holders, and lockable storage.
