We've just completed the build on a truly incredible 2750 Ultracentrecab and what a beast of a boat she is! Custom crafted to suit the owners taste and useage, this one is built for game fishing along the eastern Australian coastline. The Ultra Centrecab is the perfect trailerboat for this kind of fishing; with the walk around cabin offering 360 degree fishing access, and a deck and cabin that both offer ample room for fishing space, storage and protection from the elements. Let's see what was fitted!
Starting at the transom, on went a pair of shiny new Suzuki DF250 engines; a total of 500hp. We've always backed the Suzukis, offering plenty of power, reliability, modern tech and of course fuel economy which gives the boat that extra range out of the fuel 500L tank. While the Suzukis don't have native electronic steering built in, they link in perfectly with an aftermarket Dometic EPS package; which makes turning those big four strokes genuinely effortless. We have also fitted those twin engines to a set of Dometic jacking plates; something we find a lot of customers are benefiting from when it comes to vertical engine control in shallow water or precise adjustments whilst underway.
The hull came to us with quite a few options fitted at the Stabicraft factory across the ditch, including a few custom pieces. Dive doors are becoming a popular option on some of the big Stabis, and why not; they make super easy access into and out of the boat, not only when diving but for general access on shore and onto the pontoons. As well as the custom dive door, we requested some custom transom cages which add to the amount of safe, fishable room at the back of the boat. You'll definitely notice the striking Stage 3 Metallic Blue paint - a colour which nearly matches the Seacruiser 9000 that the owner also fishes out of. Covering the floors and gunnels is U-Dek flooring, with painted rails all over. On the back of the cabin we have the locking bi-fold doors which offer both security for goods, and protection from the elements. Above the doors is some deck lights and Fusion speakers; but also a Garmin GPSMap 1553 screen, which links into the sounders on the dash, to show anyone out on the back deck exactly whats going on beneath the boat. We've also fitted a custom hatch behind the dive door to fill a void, which allows for storage of docking ropes. Also on the deck we have four electric reel sockets which makes plugging in your electric reels, cable free, super simple.
Inside the cabin there is plenty going on! At first glance you'll notice the unique tan coloured leather on the interior; a custom re-trim completed by Mark Unwin Auto Trimming here in Warrnambool. Underneath all of the front V-Berth cushions, we've neatly tucked away a full Enerdrive electrical system. This includes a 300ah ePower lithium battery - with all on-board charging looked after by an ePower 40a DCDC charger, ePower 60a 240v charger, and solar coming in off the roof. 240V input. There's also an Enerdrive battery monitor mounted to the dash to monitor power levels at any time.
Under the suspension seating, we have some custom tackle tray storage securely tucked into the seat boxes; with four trays stored in slots in each box. Behind this, we have some large benches which extend to the rear of the cabin both with large cushions on top. Port side, there's dual Engel drawer fridges, and starboard side, a massive Plaztek custom cabin setup to store all the goodies you need while out on the water. On the roof we have custom fitted eight rod holders, which allow for easy, lockable storage of your prized combos out of the weather and elements - and theiving eyes!
The dash is well fitted with electronics - but not over the top. Two sounder screens are fitted, a GPSMap 8416 (flush mounted) and GPSMap 1553 (dash mounted) in addition to the 1553 on the rear of the cabin. This allows for mapping and traditional sounder to be run on seperate screens - or operation of the stereo, steering or any other device able to be linked to the Garmin system via NMEA. Two 1kw thru hull Airmar transducers are run into the screens via a Garmin GSD28 sonar module with an MSC10 satellite compass allowing Garmin's Heave Compensation to eliminate un-even bottom returns in rough seas. For mapping, Garmin's relief shading card delivers incredibly detailed charts for the Australian coastline to find even the slightest rubble pile or hole.
Also on the dash, there's dual Suzuki SMG4 guages, Scanstrut phone charger, trim tab & jacking plate controls, anchor winch switch, GME VHF radio, Ritchie compass and also a joystick to control the Go Light searchlight. This is mounted to the roof; and allows for a searchlight to be controlled via the joystick when operating at night time.
As with all of our Stabicraft boats, we've got this one on a custom Easytow alloy trailer with Boat Buckles and a Boat Catch - although we did opt for the upgraded weight rating on this one to cover the additional weight of the accessories and fuel.
Up on the bow is the factory fitted Maxwell anchor winch, alongside a 36V Minn Kota Instinct Quest auto-deloy electric motor. Electric motors have become very popular for offshore anglers. You can instantly spot-lock via GPS as soon as you mark your reef or fish, and no longer need to anchor and drift back down. No ropes, no anchors, no noise and no snagging. The Instinct Quest features a brushless motor which is powerful enough to hold the big 2750 but still quite efficient! This motor runs off a 36V 100ah Enerdrive battery, running through a Minn Kota waterproof plug, and is mounted to a quick release bracket allowing for easy removal and locking.
