Marine Service Manager

Richardson Marine is looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead our busy workshop, working with one of Australia's leading Suzuki Marine dealerships and a passionate team of marine technicians. This is more than just managing service jobs - it's about leading a workshop that keeps local anglers, families and offshore adventurers on the water with confidence. The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring all servicing, repairs, and installations are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. This role manages workflow, staff, customer communication, and job scheduling, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers. The Service Manager plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service, supporting technicians, controlling costs, and ensuring the service department operates profitably and in line with manufacturer and workplace compliance requirements.

Use of a work vehicle (Ford Ranger Super Duty) is negotiable with the salary.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and allocate service technicians to jobs

Organise and schedule Suzuki four stroke service bookings

Coordinate apprentice training

Customer support (warranty, service, re-works)

Procurement of stock for service jobs

Supply or order spare parts as required by customer requests

Qualifications & Skills

Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management skills

Sound technical understanding of marine engines, systems, and repairs

Excellent customer service and communication abilities

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workflow

Experience in job scheduling, quoting, invoicing, and warranty processes

Ability to manage service department performance, productivity, and profitability

Confidence liaising with manufacturers, suppliers, and warranty providers

High attention to detail and commitment to quality control

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Proficiency with job management systems, dealership software, and general computer applications

Thorough understanding of workplace health and safety and compliance requirements
