Fine conditions over the weekend saw plenty of anglers out chasing fish from inshore to the shelf. Pinky snapper are still prevalent in close with fish to 50cm in reasonably good numbers in 40-45m of water. The tuna have been patchy, but biting very well up to 25kg off Portland and Port Fairy. Plenty of nice gummy sharks were caught on the weekend also both anchoring or drifting.
Matt Brown caught his first gummy shark on Friday fishing off Port Fairy in 40m of water.
Peter Richardson caught a good bag of gummy shark and morwong off Warrnambool.
