Sunday saw absolute Tuna insanity out the front of Warrnambool. Roughly 1km out from the Breakwall school Bluefin were smashing large patches of whitebait creating absolute chaos for Anglers. Trolling smaller 4-6 inch skirts such as Pakula Uzi’s and Micro Uzi’s was the dynamite method. Anglers casting did extremely well on smaller stickbaits such as the Nomad Madscad 115’s and Rapala SXRLS-12’s. Tackle Shack customers Phil and Amanda made the run back from fishing at Nelson after hearing of the hot bite. It was a good call to leave the Mulloway biting as they ended up landed some quality Tuna!
There has also been some great schools of fish holding deeper in the 40-50m line from the back of Julia Percy, right through to Peterborough. The best news is that the Tuna fishing will only fire up over the next couple of weeks.
