Salmon have once again been chewing hard in the surf. Fish up to 2kg have been common this week on beaches such as Grannys Grave, Levis, Killarney, East Beach and Yambuck. As always, casting metal lures has been the best method to get in on the action. As a bonus, the odd sizable Mulloway up and over the meter mark has been showing up for those soaking fresh baits around the tide changes.
The Lakes have been fishing exceptional at the moment with good reports coming from Rocklands, Bolac, Bullen Merri and Purrumbete. Frank Gadea guided David Woods on Purrumbete where they caught some awesome fish up to 6.5lb fly fishing the margins.
The Estuaries have been a little hit and miss depending on the amount of freshwater flow coming down. Saturday afternoon saw Tackle Shack staff member Dylan along with John Albrecht find any amount of solid Bream either side of 40cm, along with plenty of perch keen on smashing Zman Grubz and Slim Swimz.
