A sensational long weekend of fishing was capped off today with a variety of catches. The tuna were again in close off Warrnambool and Port Fairy, proving finicky for many while others caught several, especially those that tried something different, either away from the other boats, and/or alternative methods. For example, Travis, Shane and Darcy Graham caught 19 today on stick-baits, releasing most of them. Rhooky fished with Eddy in the Seacruiser 7000, heading out for some bottom fishing and coming home with a nice school shark, snapper and Tassie Trumpeter.
On Cassius Cray we also went out wide bottom fishing, getting a good feed of flake, both gummies and schoolies, along with a harpuka, couple of nice flathead and a nannygai. Hungry’s big gummy went 19.40kg.
Aaron Mitchell Got in the water with mate Paul Maddern for a feed of crays this afternoon at Port Fairy.
Anton Vogiatzis went wide to the shelf of Port Fairy and was rewarded with 10 SBTs all tagged except this one on 4kg line. Someone near them got dusted by a barrel today also.
